I really love reading the book of Psalms. No matter the situation, God seems to appear/move just in the nick of time. He always knows what to say, how to get my attention. He's my best friend. I don't have to worry about whether or not He has good intentions of His thoughts toward/about me. He makes sure I know and won't let me forget. Thoughtful. I can always call Him, no matter where I am or how late/early in the day or night. He proves Himself daily to be loyal and faithful. My true love. I can always count on Him to be there and hear my heart and mind. He talks back, too, and I love it. :) He keeps all of His promises and always lives up to His word. He's jealous for me. He wants my heart, not to abuse it. My Father, my best friend, my redeemer, the greatest love of my life wants to protect and nurture and strengthen my heart. He wants to build it up for His perfect love's purpose: to light up the world with His love. <3 ... ...

The Beginning

I reached out and left DC for my hometown of Atlanta. I started reading the bible, desperately [and thoughtlessly], seeking answers or some sort of solution. I wanted God's love and strength, but I needed a way out and I didn't know how to ask. So, I read. I used any idle time to pray and study. He'd kept me when I didn't want it and loved me when I didn't deserve it.    I started a prayer/study journal. It was simple. I went to a dollar store and bought a small notebook to write passages and prayers in and I used it up, fast. I wrote prayers of hunger and thirst and some of the pages are still tear-stained, but I didn't hear anything from my Father. It was a selfish pursuit, really. I wanted Him to dig me out of the hole of...

Allow Me to Introduce Myself.

Tuesday, March 17, 2015 Hi there. Call me Jordyn. I'm a small young woman who's just given her life over to Christ COMPLETELY and FULLY. I started a blog because, why not? Maybe... Hopefully, someone could benefit from my story and the thoughts and talks I have with my Father. Writing has helped me so much, venting can be great. The soul needs release, I think, and this just may be mine for a while. I'm not perfect, nor am I aiming for perfection. I'm only in pursuit of a new kind of happiness.  I suppose I'll begin with the beginning, so to speak. This is the point where I acknowledged that something was wrong/missing. This blog may contain devotionals, songs, or random thoughts of mine from the past or present. The following is a journal entry from early-November of 2014.  "I was beginning to feel both hopeless and purposeless. I know, I know. God does nothing without purpose, including the creation of a person. I'd witnessed the successes and lo...
